Thanks for visiting! I'm Katie Brown. You may also know me as children's book author, K.D. Brown. I wear many hats (as I'm sure you do); among them, I'm also a freelance copywriter. If you're interested in working together for a project or would like to submit a product for a fair and honest review, please email me at kdbrown341@gmail.com.
If you're reading my blog, you're probably: a) pregnant; b) a new mom; c) a seasoned mom; or d) someone who just has impeccable taste (good for you). I started this blog after my daughter was born to chronicle my journey through pregnancy and new motherhood. I'm always hoping to get a few chuckles along the way and my kids return the favor in kind. Learning how to be a mom has been filled with so many funny, interesting, terrifying, and puzzling moments that I figured I can't be the only one experiencing these things. Surely other moms get pooped on, right?
I live in Tampa, Florida with my incredible husband and our two lovable and goofy kids.

My goal is to share those experiences (in all their pukey glory) and whatever wisdom I've picked up along the way so other moms know they're not alone. Likewise, I hope to be of some help to moms-to-be who are buying cribs, picking out tiny clothes, and comparing the size of their unborn babies to those bizarre fruits they've never seen (I don't know what a jackfruit is either). From infancy to potty training, I'm still learning as I go and everyday is a wonderfully exhausting challenge.
Having taken both kids to work with me during most of their first years, I certainly understand "tired"; but I also know the pure, no-holds-barred, bare feet on a Slip 'n Slide kind of joy that only comes from being a parent. True, that form of happiness rarely accompanies you to the crib at 3 a.m., but it usually resurfaces after waking from a much needed nap.
I've published two children's books and I have an English degree from the University of South Florida and an honorary degree from the school of Don't Drop the Baby (although my husband believes I'll flunk out one of these days). I'm also a contributor for the Tampa Bay Moms Blog - a great resource for moms in the Tampa Bay area. I hope you enjoy my thoughts, stories, and tips. It's a pleasure writing for you and I welcome the opportunity to connect with both of my readers. :)
